Nuno Leal was born in August of 1973, and initiated his musical sudies at the age of twelve, in “Filarmónica União Sardoalense”. In 1989, he was matriculated in the “Tomar Regional Conservatory”, in the teachers Alberto Roque and José Lopes’s class of saxophone. In 1991 Nuno Leal joined the “Army´s Band”, where he stayed during two years.
In 1993, Nuno Leal was matriculated in the “Arcos de Estoril Profissional School”, in the Theory and Composition curse, in the Professor Evgueni Zoudilkine’s class. In 1996 he was accepted in the “Lisbon’s Music College”, in the Composition curse, where he studied with the professors António Sousa Dias e António Pinho Vargas, among othres. Afert studing during two years in this college, Nuno Leal was transfered to the “Aveiro University” to continue his studies of composition with the professor Evgueni Zoudilkine. At present he is a senior pupil of the Electoacustic Music subject, lectured by the professor João Pedro Oliveira.
